How to burn a CD on the Mac (Roxio)

The following instructions are for burning a data or music CD in Roxio Toast.

Before you start:

These instructions only apply to burning a CD on a Mac. To burn a CD on a PC see How to burn a CD on the PC (Roxio)

It is recommended to shut down all other programs before burning a CD so they will not interfere with the burning process.

1. Opening Roxio Toast Titanium
Open the Applications folder, then go to Software > CD/DVD Authoring > Toast 6 Titanium.

When the program window appears, you will notice four options on top. This tutorial will guide you through burning a data or audio/music CD:

  • Data CD
  • Audio CD
  • 2. Burning a data CD
    To burn a data CD, choose the "Data" button. You may now drag-and-drop files and folders into the field.

    Once completed, click the red button on the lower right corner.

    2. Burning an audio CD
    To burn an audio/music CD, choose the "Audio" button. You may now drag-and-drop audio files into the field.

    Important: Notice on the left menu, there is the option to choose Audio CD or MP3 Disc. If burning a standard audio disc, choose Audio CD. If burning a data CD of MP3s, choose MP3 Disc.

    Once completed, click the red button on the lower right corner.

    3. Burning Options
    After clicking the red button, an options window will appear. Confirm the number of copies, then click Record.
